Jamestown & Yorktown

This was a great day!  We headed out for Jamestown in the morning.  This was the first permanent English settlement.  They showed a good movie and introduced some of the famous characters from that early settlement: John Smith, John Rolfe & Pocahontas.  We then spent the afternoon at Yorktown, where the decisive battle was won to end the Revolutionary War.  The last words of the Tour Guide were something to the effect: "In Jamestown, England established its first colony; 23 miles away and 170 years later in Yorktown, they lost all 13 of them." Great line that tied the day together.
